For this one we're taking it slow and steady
It’s indisputable: the AI era has well and truly started. The public launch of ChatGPT in late 2022 was the landmark that brought Generative AI and large language models (LLMs) to our consciousness. We are witnessing one of the most transformative technological shifts, one that will drastically alter most industries and many aspects of society.
Given that during the Google I/O keynote the term “AI” was used over 120 times, and the recent Microsoft event launching the Copilot+ used the term over 50 times, we’re starting to think there may be a tiny bit of hype around this technology at the moment /s
We have been working with the (still in preview) Spring AI framework, along with equivalent frameworks in Rust along with WASM based technologies to run on-premises models. It is early days, and as such we are still in the OO phase of the OODA loop [1] on this.
As time passes, generative AI (GenAl) will become accessible to everyone. The popularity and development of Large Language Models (LLMs) continues at an astonishing pace, with today’s state of the art model quickly becoming last months’ legacy. Currently, companies with established engineering practices and robust MLOps infrastructure are best positioned to capitalize on this early advantage.
